1. Product Description
DAVO ED type powder coating is a thermosetting fusion-bonded epoxy powder coating specifically designed for the single-layer anti-corrosion system of pipelines. The epoxy powder underlayer exhibits excellent adhesion and cathodic disbondment resistance. Pipes coated with this product can be used over a wide temperature range (-30~100℃) and are suitable for underground and underwater pipeline facilities.
During the production process, in addition to systematic testing in accordance with conventional technical standards for each batch of products, our company also adopts KBr disks for infrared scanning detection and DSC scanning detection to ensure product quality.
2. Storage Conditions
Store in an environment with temperature below 30℃ and relative humidity below 60%. The shelf life is 6 months. Beyond this period, the product must pass re-inspection before use.
3. Powder Curing Requirements
Remove oil, rust, other loose deposits and moisture from the surface.
Perform sandblasting or shot blasting treatment to Sa2.5 grade, with an anchor pattern depth of 50~90μm. Clean the surface to a near-white level. Note that new and old sand should be added evenly to maintain a stable ratio.
Clean the pipeline surface thoroughly.
Preheat the workpiece, generally controlling the temperature at 180~220℃.
Apply the ED powder coating to the pipeline surface using electrostatic spraying method, with a thickness of 60~150μm.
Wrap the hot melt adhesive over the epoxy powder coating at a temperature close to its melting point, with a minimum thickness of 200μm.
Extrude and wrap the polyethylene outer layer over the intermediate adhesive layer at its melting point (approximately 240℃), and compact the three layers with pressure rollers to prevent interlayer bubbles.
Cool the coating.
Repair any missed spots.
4. Curing Instructions
Apply the ED powder coating to the preheated workpiece and cure it in accordance with the spraying requirements to achieve optimal performance.
The intermediate adhesive layer must be applied before the powder gels to ensure the two layers fuse into one.
The higher-temperature intermediate adhesive layer and outer PE layer can provide guaranteed conditions for powder curing.
