Description

Epoxy Resin & Composite Zinc Powder Based Coating Technical Specification

1. Product Description

This series of products is a coating formulated with epoxy resin matrix and composite zinc powder as the main components, supplemented by necessary pigments, fillers and additives. Manufactured through melt extrusion and grinding processes, it exhibits excellent anti-corrosion performance.

2. Storage Conditions

Store in an environment with temperature below 25℃ and relative humidity below 60%. The shelf life is 6 months. Beyond this period, the product must pass re-inspection before use.

3. Powder Curing Requirements

Cure the primer powder layer at 180℃ for 8 minutes / 200℃ for 5 minutes (workpiece temperature) with a thickness of 60~80μm, then perform final curing together with the topcoat powder.
Standard product spray film thickness: 60~80μm; product film thickness will affect the final corrosion resistance. Relevant test results are obtained under the premise of substrates, operating processes and parameters that meet corresponding standard requirements (or specific conditions). Actual performance may differ under the customer's on-site substrates, processes and parameters. Additionally, all tests are conducted under laboratory conditions and are for reference only. The following properties are obtained based on the composite coating of zinc-rich primer powder (60~80μm) and topcoat powder (60~80μm).

4. Operation Process and Parameters

Substrate Type
Surface Treatment
Ordinary Steel
Zinc Phosphate Treatment or Sandblasting Treatment
# If phosphating treatment is adopted: Before treatment, the substrate must be thoroughly cleaned to remove grease and dried. After phosphating, chromium passivation treatment is required; otherwise, the final powder coating performance will fail to meet the requirements.
# If sandblasting treatment is adopted: The sandblasting grade shall reach Sa2.5, and the workpiece surface temperature shall be lower than dew point temperature + 3℃ to prevent water condensation. The primer powder must be sprayed within 4 hours after sandblasting.
