Ultra-Low Temperature Curing Weather-Resistant Powder Coating
Ultra-low temperature curing weather-resistant powder coating is a high-performance thermosetting powder coating specially developed for energy-saving production and heat-sensitive substrate applications. It is formulated with modified weather-resistant saturated polyester resin and special low-temperature curing agents as the main binders, combined with high-grade weather-resistant pigments (such as inorganic ceramic pigments, rutile titanium dioxide), functional additives (anti-UV agents, leveling agents) and fillers. Through advanced formula optimization and production processes, the product realizes stable curing at ultra-low temperatures (120℃~140℃) while maintaining excellent weather resistance, mechanical properties and decorative performance. It effectively solves the problems of high energy consumption in traditional powder coating curing and inapplicability to heat-sensitive substrates, and fully complies with the current global trends of energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection.
1. Core Performance Advantages
-
Ultra-Low Temperature Curing, Energy-Saving & Efficient: Realizes complete curing at 120℃~140℃, with a curing time of 15~25 minutes (adjustable according to film thickness). Compared with traditional weather-resistant powder coatings that require 180℃~200℃ curing, it can save more than 30% of energy consumption. At the same time, the low curing temperature shortens the preheating and cooling cycles of workpieces, significantly improving production efficiency and reducing production costs.
-
Excellent Weather Resistance: Adopts modified weather-resistant resin and high-purity anti-UV pigments, with outstanding UV resistance, anti-chalking and anti-fading properties. It can pass 2000 hours of accelerated weathering test (QUV/B), with a gloss retention rate of more than 85% and a color difference (ΔE) of less than 1.5. It can provide long-term protective performance for 8~12 years in outdoor environments, effectively resisting corrosion from acid rain, salt fog, industrial fumes and other harsh factors.
-
Wide Substrate Adaptability, Suitable for Heat-Sensitive Materials: The ultra-low curing temperature avoids thermal deformation or damage to heat-sensitive substrates, making it applicable to not only traditional metal substrates (steel, aluminum alloy, galvanized sheet) but also heat-sensitive materials such as plastic-metal composites, low-melting point alloys and pre-assembled components with plastic parts. It expands the application scope of weather-resistant powder coatings.
-
Superior Mechanical & Decorative Performance: The coating film has strong adhesion (Grade 0 according to ISO 2409), excellent impact resistance (≥50KG·cm), good flexibility (bending test ≤2mm) and scratch resistance. It supports personalized customization of surface effects, including various textures (smooth, matte, sand texture) and gloss levels (5%~95%), and can be color-matched according to RAL, Pantone standards or customer-specific samples, with a uniform and delicate coating surface.
-
Eco-Friendly & Compliance: It is a solvent-free and VOC-free product, with no harmful gas emissions during application and curing. It complies with international environmental protection standards (such as EU RoHS, REACH directives) and industrial safety requirements. It is non-toxic, non-flammable and easy to transport and store, meeting the environmental protection needs of various industries.

3. Application Fields
With the advantages of ultra-low temperature curing, excellent weather resistance and wide substrate adaptability, the product is widely used in the surface coating of various indoor and outdoor products, covering multiple industries that require energy saving and heat-sensitive substrate protection:
-
Architectural Decoration & Hardware: Aluminum profiles for doors and windows, metal railings, canopies, outdoor hardware accessories (hinges, brackets), and pre-assembled building components with plastic parts (avoiding plastic deformation during curing);
-
Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics: Exteriors of small household appliances (electric fans, air purifiers), metal casings of consumer electronics (audio equipment, camera brackets), and plastic-metal composite parts (ensuring the stability of plastic components);
-
Transportation Equipment: Auto parts (plastic-metal composite interior and exterior parts, low-temperature-sensitive aluminum alloy components), railway vehicle interior decorative parts, highway guardrails, and outdoor parking equipment;
-
Industrial & Public Facilities: Instrument enclosures, electromechanical equipment casings that cannot withstand high temperatures, street lamp poles, bus shelters, playground equipment, and outdoor environmental protection equipment;
-
Other Special Fields: Heat-sensitive metal products (low-melting point alloys), antique metal restoration (avoiding thermal damage to cultural relics), and small-batch customized products that require rapid curing and energy saving.
4. Storage & Construction Notes
4.1 Storage Requirements
-
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, with temperature below 28℃ and relative humidity below 60%. Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, rain and moisture;
-
Keep away from fire sources, oxidants and corrosive substances, and do not stack with other powder coatings to prevent cross-contamination;
-
The shelf life is 6 months under proper storage conditions. For products beyond the shelf life, they can be used only after passing re-inspection (including fluidity, curing performance and film-forming effect);
-
Seal the packaging immediately after each use to prevent moisture absorption and contamination of the powder.
4.2 Construction Requirements
-
Substrate Pre-treatment: According to the type of substrate, perform appropriate pre-treatment (phosphating, sandblasting, degreasing) to remove oil, rust, moisture and loose deposits. The substrate surface should be clean, dry and free of impurities. For heat-sensitive substrates, the pre-treatment temperature should not exceed 80℃;
-
Spraying Methods: Suitable for corona electrostatic spraying and triboelectric electrostatic spraying. The spraying equipment should be cleaned before use to avoid mixing with other powders. Adjust the spraying pressure (0.3~0.5MPa) and electrostatic voltage (60~80KV) to ensure uniform powder deposition;
-
Film Thickness Control: The recommended dry film thickness is 50~80μm. Excessive film thickness may lead to prolonged curing time or poor leveling; too thin film thickness will affect weather resistance and protective performance;
-
Curing Control: Strictly control the curing temperature and time. The curing temperature refers to the actual temperature of the workpiece (not the oven temperature). It is recommended to use a temperature tester to monitor the workpiece temperature to ensure complete curing. For complex workpieces, extend the curing time appropriately;
-
Safety Protection: Construction personnel should wear anti-static overalls, masks and goggles to avoid inhaling powder. Prohibit smoking and open flames in the construction and storage areas. Equip with fire-fighting equipment that meets the requirements.
